From today’s gospel reading:
After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions, and all who heard him were astounded at his understanding and his answers…He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them; and his mother kept all these things in her heart. And Jesus advanced in wisdom and age and favor before God and man.
Reflection:
The Gospel reading reminds us that we should cultivate relationships within and outside of our biological family and seek opportunities for growth through our relationships. We are reminded to interact with people beyond our household, as different experiences and perspectives can enrich our lives and increase our wisdom.
The end of the reading notes that Jesus increased in wisdom and human and divine favor as he grew, and this growth is supported by his immediate family and larger community.
So, I ask you:
Whom do you consider family?
How do you support others in their growth and development?

Después de tres días lo encontraron en el templo, sentado en medio de los maestros, escuchándolos y haciéndoles preguntas, y todos los que lo escuchaban se sorprendían de su comprensión y sus respuestas… Él bajó con ellos y vino a Nazaret, y era obediente para con ellos; y su madre guardaba todas estas cosas en su corazón. Y Jesús avanzó en sabiduría, edad y favor ante Dios y ante los hombres.
Reflexión:
La lectura del Evangelio nos recuerda que debemos cultivar relaciones dentro y fuera de nuestra familia biológica y buscar oportunidades de crecimiento a través de nuestras relaciones. Se nos recuerda que debemos interactuar con personas más allá de nuestro hogar, ya que diferentes experiencias y perspectivas pueden enriquecer nuestras vidas y aumentar nuestra sabiduría.
El final de la lectura señala que Jesús aumentaba en sabiduría y favor delante de Dios y de los hombres a medida que crecía, y este crecimiento era apoyado por su familia inmediata y por su comunidad en general.
Entonces, te pregunto:
