From today’s Gospel reading
“Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me”.
Reflection
On this celebration of Corpus Christi, we can draw a parallel from the ways we should have been fed by our parents through the stages of our lives, to the way Jesus feeds us by his very life and constant presence – his body and blood.
Today the church celebrates God’s presence in our lives in many bountiful ways; most particularly in our Eucharistic assemblies where the Word has been broken and shared and the broken bread and poured cup of wine, the body and blood of God’s own Son, have reaffirmed us in our journey.
So, we ask ourselves
When the minister of the Eucharist presents us with the consecrated host and say, “the Body of Christ”, do we realize that such announcement has several dimensions in its meaning?
Do we realize, that responding AMEN we are professing, not only our faith in the real presence of Christ under the species of bread and wine; but that we become what we eat. In other words, we also become the body of Christ. We become, ourselves, sacraments of Christ for the world.

“Como el Padre que me ha enviado, posee la vida y yo vivo por él, así también el que me come vivirá por mí”.
Reflexión
En esta celebración del Corpus Christi, podemos establecer un paralelo entre las formas en que deberíamos haber sido alimentados por nuestros padres, a través de las etapas de nuestras vidas, con la forma en que Jesús nos alimenta con su propia vida y presencia constante: con su cuerpo y con su sangre.
Hoy la Iglesia celebra la presencia de Dios en nuestras vidas. Esta presencia se da de muchas maneras y con abundancia; más particularmente en nuestras Asambleas Eucarísticas donde la Palabra ha sido compartida, el pan partido y la copa de vino distribuida: el cuerpo y la sangre del propio Jesucristo. De esta manera Dios nos reafirma en nuestro camino hacia la Patria Eterna.
Entonces, nos preguntamos
Cuando el ministro de la Eucaristía nos presenta la hostia consagrada y dice: “el Cuerpo de Cristo”, ¿nos damos cuenta de que tal anuncio tiene varias dimensiones de significación?
¿Nos damos cuenta de que, respondiendo AMÉN, estamos profesando, no sólo nuestra fe en la presencia real de Cristo bajo las especies del pan y del vino consagrados; sino que nos convertimos en lo que comemos, es decir, nos convertimos en el cuerpo de Cristo; y en sacramentos de Cristo para el mundo?
