From today’s Gospel
“If anyone comes to me without hating their father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even their own life, they cannot be my disciple.”
Reflection
Jesus uses stark languages today to make a point. There is no putting off decisions we must make and changes we have not yet gotten around to. We must carefully think out and weigh: how are to respond to Jesus today? What is very clear from the gospel is that it costs to serve completely and utterly this Christ we call Lord.
So, we ask ourselves
What decisions have we been putting that know Christ is asking to make?
What will be the costs for us if we make these decisions?

“Si alguien viene a mí sin odiar a su padre y madre, esposa e hijos, hermanos y hermanas, e incluso su propia vida, no puede ser mi discípulo”.
Reflexión
Jesús usa un lenguaje crudo hoy para dejar claro su punto. No hay que posponer las decisiones que debemos tomar y los cambios que aún no hemos conseguido. Debemos pensar y sopesar cuidadosamente: ¿cómo responder a Jesús hoy? Lo que está muy claro en el evangelio es que cuesta servir completa y cabalmente a este Cristo que llamamos Señor.
Entonces, nos preguntamos
¿Qué decisiones hemos estado tomando que sabemos que Cristo está pidiendo tomar?
¿Cuáles serán los costos para nosotros si tomamos estas decisiones?
