The Music Ministry of Our Lady of Perpetual Help is a vibrant blend of cultures, coming together to enrich Masses and special events at OLPH through music.
All OLPH choirs are composed of dedicated members who actively serve the parish. The OLPH Choir, which includes a large number of Filipino members, regularly participates in Filipino religious events throughout Tampa, while the Hispanic Choir is involved in various Hispanic community celebrations. During special occasions—such as holidays, feast days, and parish-wide events—all OLPH choirs come together to sing in unity.
OLPH welcomes interested singers and musicians into its Music Ministry. If interested, please contact us.
OLPH Choir
The OLPH Choir was officially established in early 2003 as the OLPH Ladies Choir, originally singing at the 10:00 AM Sunday Masses. Over time, it has evolved into a mixed chorus and is now directed and accompanied by Nhick Ramiro Pacis, who also serves as the organist for the Saturday evening masses.
OLPH Coro Latino
The OLPH Coro Latino leads the music at the Spanish-language Masses held every Sunday at 12:00 PM, under the direction of Astrid Sanchez and Luis Manuel Orozco. Rehearsals take place on Mondays at 7:00 PM at the Rectory.
The OLPH Music Ministry is also blessed with the dedication of its cantors and instrumentalists. Baritone Vic Omila, Jr. has faithfully served as a cantor since 2005. The ministry continues to benefit from the unwavering support of violinist Patrick Baran and organist Jim Leone, who regularly plays for the weekday morning Masses. The OLPH Hispanic Choir is enriched by the talents of guitarist Herman Quijano, trombonist Juan Manuel Madrigal, and percussionists Victor Lozada and Mauricio Rodriguez.
