From today’s Gospel reading:
Jesus said to the woman, “Daughter your faith has saved you. Go in peace and be cured of your affliction”.
Reflection:
My dear parishioners, this is my last article I write as your pastor, inspired by this week Fr. Jude Siciliano’s “First Impressions”. Jesus stopping to address the woman’s needs shows he considered her as important and as pressing as that of the prominent religious leader Jairus. Once again, Jesus shows that the marginalized have an important place in his ministry and in his invitation to the reign of God.
So, I ask myself:
Have the marginalized had an important place in my ministry, all these seven and a half years at OLPH? Have I been successful conveying the evangelical message about the importance of our relationship with God, which will strengthen our values of truth, justice, charity and freedom for all in this country and for the entire world?
Call to mind the last words of the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, “ …One nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all”. This coming 4th of July have fun and be joyful, you are part of God’s plan.

Reflexión:
Mis queridos feligreses, este es el último artículo que escribo como su párroco, inspirado en las “Primeras Impresiones” del P. Jude Siciliano de esta semana. El hecho de que Jesús se detuviera para atender las necesidades de la mujer muestra que la consideraba tan importante y su necesidad tan apremiante como la del prominente líder religioso Jairo. Una vez más, Jesús muestra que los marginados tienen un lugar importante en su ministerio y en su invitación al reino de Dios.
Entonces, me pregunto:
¿Han tenido los marginados un lugar importante en mi ministerio, durante estos siete años y medio en OLPH? ¿He tenido éxito en transmitir el mensaje evangélico, sobre la importancia de nuestra relación con Dios, la cual fortalecerá nuestros valores de verdad, justicia, caridad y libertad para todos en este país y para el mundo entero?
Recordemos las últimas palabras del Juramento de Lealtad a la Bandera de los Estados Unidos de América: “… Una nación bajo Dios, indivisible, con Libertad y Justicia para todos”. Este próximo 4 de julio diviértanse y alégrense, pues ustedes son parte del plan de Dios.
