Sheep without a shepherd, I cannot think of a sadder way to describe a people. Yet, I think that is how many people feel in contemporary society—that nobody cares about them.
Perhaps you have said “nobody cares about me,” but our Lord cares. He was sent for lost sheep. And if you feel lost, He was sent for you. If you are lost in this life, stop and look for the Good Shepherd. He knows his sheep, but often his sheep do not know him.
So, how can you know him? Take about five minutes to pray with John 10:27, “My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” Ask the Lord for a word or a phrase out of this verse in your five minutes. Make it a habit, even for five minutes a day, to read sacred scripture. When you do, ask the Lord to speak to you through your reading. Desire to know Christ through the authentic teaching of the Church and examples of the saints Lastly, choose to follow Him to our heavenly homeland by making choices, that glorify Him. We are sheep with a shepherd, but are we living as we are without a shepherd?
Christ says in John 10:14, “I am the good shepherd, and I know mine and mine know me.”

Ovejas sin pastor, no se me ocurre manera más triste de describir a un pueblo. Sin embargo, creo que eso es lo que siente mucha gente en la sociedad contemporánea: que a nadie le importan.
Quizás hayas dicho “nadie se preocupa por mí”, pero a nuestro Señor le importa. Fue enviado a buscar la oveja perdida. Y si te sientes perdido, Él fue enviado por ti. Si estás perdido en esta vida, detente y busca al Buen Pastor. Él conoce a sus ovejas, pero muchas veces sus ovejas no lo conocen a él.
Entonces, ¿cómo puedes conocerlo? Tómate unos cinco minutos para orar con Juan 10:27: “Mis ovejas oyen mi voz; Yo las conozco y ellas me siguen.” Pídele al Señor una palabra o frase de este versículo en tus cinco minutos. Adquiera el hábito de leer las Sagradas Escrituras, aunque sea cinco minutos al día. Cuando lo hagas, pídele al Señor que te hable a través de tu lectura. Deseo de conocer a Cristo a través de las enseñanzas auténticas de la Iglesia y los ejemplos de los santos. Por último, elija seguirlo a nuestra patria celestial tomando decisiones que lo glorifiquen. Somos ovejas con pastor, pero ¿vivimos como estamos sin pastor?
Cristo dice en Juan 10:14: “Yo soy el buen pastor, y conozco a los míos, y los míos me conocen a mí”.
