Our Lady of Perpetual Help’s Music Ministry is a vibrant mix of cultures getting together, providing music to OLPH’s masses and other events.
All OLPH choirs have a very dedicated number of members. While the Ladies Choir, which has a big number of Filipino members, also participates at different Filipino religious events around Tampa, the Hispanic Choir has been active with other Hispanic events. OLPH choirs sing together during special holidays, feast days and other special events.
OLPH welcomes interested singers and musicians into its Music Ministry. If interested, please contact us.
OLPH Ladies Choir
The OLPH Ladies Choir was formalized in early 2003, singing at the Sunday 10:00 AM masses. The choir is accompanied and directed by Nhick Ramiro Pacis who is also the organist at the Saturday evening masses. OLPH Ladies Choir rehearsals are held at the Rectory on Wednesdays at 8:30PM after the Wednesday novena.
OLPH Coro Latino
The OLPH Coro Latino sings at the Spanish masses on Sundays at 12:00 P.M. Sylvia Chai plays for and directs the choir. OLPH Coro Latino rehearsals are held at the Rectory on Mondays at 7:00PM.
The OLPH music ministry is also blessed to have the dedication of cantors and instrumentalists. Baritone Vic Omila, Jr. has been a cantor in church since 2005. There is also the never ending support of violinist Patrick Baran and organist Jim Leone who plays for the weekday morning masses. The OLPH Hispanic Choir also has guitarist Herman Quijano, trombonist Juan Manual Madrigal and percussionists, Victor Lozada and Mauricio Rodriguez.
