From the Book of Genesis:
Again, the Lord’s messenger called to Abraham from heaven and said: “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you acted as you did, not withholding from me your son, I will bless you abundantly…”
Reflection:
Abraham trusted God, and God blessed him beyond his wildest dreams. In a similar way, God tests our faith. When this happens, our hearts are pained, and our minds are confused. Remember when Jesus’ disciples were descending from the mountain and their minds were confused as Jesus was asking them not to tell anyone what they had seen in the mountain, until the Son of Man would raise from the dead. If we trust God, as Abraham did, God will not let us down.
So, we ask ourselves:
Faith is a lot like life. Faith has its mountains and its valleys. Recall moments in your life when You felt as standing on a mountain, when it was easy to believe and to love God. But also recall those moments in your life, when you felt like standing in a deep valley, when it was hard to believe and to love.
But we can be sure of this one thing, if we remain faithful during these trials, God will reward us with the life that He has promised to those who love him.

De nuevo, el mensajero del Señor llamó a Abraham desde el cielo y le dijo: “Juro por mí mismo, dice el Señor, que por cuanto has actuado como lo hiciste, no negándome a tu hijo, te bendeciré abundantemente…”
Reflexión:
Abraham confió en Dios, y Dios lo bendijo más allá de sus sueños más aventurados. De manera similar, Dios prueba nuestra fe. Cuando esto sucede, nuestros corazones se entristecen y nuestras mentes se confunden. Recuerden cu-ando los discípulos de Jesús estaban descendiendo de la montaña y sus mentes estaban confundidas al pedirles Jesús que no le dijeran a nadie lo que habían visto en la montaña, hasta que el Hijo del Hombre resucitara de entre los muertos. Si confiamos en Dios, como lo hizo Abraham, Dios no nos defraudará.
Entonces, nos preguntamos:
La fe se parece mucho a la vida. La fe tiene sus montañas y sus valles. Recuerden momentos de su vida en los que se sintieron como si estuvieran sobre una montaña, cuando era fácil creer y amar a Dios. Ahora recuerden esos mo-mentos de su vida, cuando se sintieron como si estuvieran en un valle profundo, cuando era difícil creer y amar.
Con todo, podemos estar seguros de una cosa, si permanecemos fieles durante estas pruebas, Dios nos recompen-sará con la vida que ha prometido a los que se atreven a amarlo.
