Some members of the Parish Pastoral Council, our secretary Michelle and I, attended what the diocese called a “Discipleship Day”, last Thursday and Friday. This was a follow up of the “Synod on Synodality” and the local “Courageously Living the Gospel” initiatives.
We joined many other parishes of the diocese, engaging in a new endeavor focused on growing our ministries, strengthening our parishes, and making disciples within our diocese.
Special focus was placed on how to invite those who have not returned to Mass or re-engaged in parish life, as those who have drifted away prior to the pandemic. My staff and I, our Parish Council, and every parishioner, we all have a big challenge in front of us. Bishop Gregory Parkes prays that our efforts will bear fruit and be witness to others.

Algunos miembros del Consejo Pastoral Parroquial, nuestra secretaria Michelle y yo, asistimos a lo que la diócesis llamó “Día del Discipulado”, el jueves y viernes pasados. Este fue un seguimiento del “Sínodo sobre la Sinodalidad” y localmente “Vivir valientemente el Evangelio”.
Nos unimos a muchas otras parroquias de la diócesis, participando en un nuevo esfuerzo enfocado en hacer crecer nuestros ministerios, fortalecer nuestras parroquias y hacer discípulos dentro de nuestra diócesis.
Se prestó especial atención a cómo invitar a aquellos que no han regresado a misa o no han vuelto a participar en la vida parroquial, como también a aquellos que se habían alejado ya antes de la pandemia. Mi personal y yo, el Consejo Parroquial, y todos los miembros de esta parroquia, tenemos un gran desafío frente a nosotros.
