From today’s Gospel reading:
Jesus answered him, it is written, “One does not live on bread alone”.
Reflection:
The tempter puts three choices before Jesus and three times Jesus responds quoting Scripture. The story joins the presence of the Spirit with the guiding words of Scripture. Is that how we can face temptation and stay true to our Christian identity, from the enlightenment and formation we receive through Scripture under the guidance of the Holy Spirit?
So, we ask ourselves:
Have the Scriptures been a bread for me in my attempts to live a Christian life?
Have I considered a disciplined and daily reading of Scripture this Lent?

De la lectura del Evangelio de hoy:
Jesús le respondió, está escrito: “Uno no vive solo de pan”.
Reflexión:
El tentador pone tres opciones ante Jesús y tres veces Jesús responde citando las Escrituras. Este pasaje evangélico une la presencia del Espíritu con las frases que Jesús cita de las Escrituras. Es así como podemos enfrentar la tentación y mantenernos fieles a nuestra identidad cristiana, desde el esclarecimiento y la formación que recibimos a través de las Escrituras bajo la guía del Espíritu Santo.
Entonces, nos preguntamos:
¿Han sido las Escrituras un pan para mí en mis intentos de vivir una vida cristiana?
¿He considerado como posibilidad, una lectura disciplinada y diaria de las Escrituras durante la Cuaresma?
