For our gospel did not come to you in word alone, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with much conviction.
Reflection
Paul reminds the Thessalonians that they not only heard the word of the gospel but saw its effects on their lives. If we are going through a testing time, it’s good to remind ourselves how God helped us in the past. Such a reminder can build hope and enable endurance in the present.
So, we ask ourselves
Is there someone who needs to hear an encouraging word from us?
When I try to give that support will I do as Paul does, remind them of the faith they have received and how God is their source of power and endurance?

De la lectura de hoy de la Primera Carta a los Tesalonicenses
Porque nuestro evangelio no ha llegado a vosotros solo de palabra, sino también con poder y en el Espíritu Santo y con mucha convicción.
Reflexión
Pablo les recuerda a los tesalonicenses que no solo escucharon la Palabra del Evangelio, sino que vieron sus efectos en sus vidas. Si estamos pasando por un tiempo de prueba, es bueno recordarnos a nosotros mismos cómo Dios nos ayudó en el pasado. Un recordatorio de este tipo puede edificar la esperanza y permitir la perseverancia en el presente.
Entonces, nos preguntamos
¿Hay alguien que necesite escuchar una palabra de aliento de nuestra parte?
Cuando trate de dar ese apoyo, ¿haré lo que hace Pablo, recordarles la fe que han recibido y cómo Dios es su fuente de poder y resistencia?
